Will this top season turn into a disaster season???
We are enjoying a wonderful season. Fine weather, splendid parades with lots of walkers, carriages and people with “poppesnorren” (painted-on moustaches). It could not be better.
Despite the fine weather, dark clouds are gathering over the folklore. Not only are we negotiating with the Municipality about subsidy and the deployment of municipal staff at our unique event, but our sponsors have also been badly letting us down so far.
On the income side we are currently a hefty €20,000 (!!) behind last year. This means that we will have to dip into our modest reserves and that we will have to make serious cuts to the programme in the future.
We therefore make an urgent appeal to the businesses in Schagen, who certainly also reap the benefits of ten busy West Frisian Thursdays.
Please send your donation to bank account NL 17 Rabo 0169 2826 94, for which our sincere thanks!
