The West Frisian woman at her finest
West Friesland had no costume of its own: women followed national fashion, in the countryside a little later. The bonnet showed where someone came from, which is why it is called North Holland regional dress. The parade in Schagen shows the fashion of about 1880 to 1905.
Borrowing a costume
