History
Since 1953 the West Frisian Folklore has kept the farm life of the past alive in Schagen every summer.

The West Frisian Folklore was founded in 1953 to preserve and show the old West Frisian customs, costumes and carriages. What started as a parade on market day in Schagen grew into ten West Frisian Thursdays every summer, each with a different theme.
Over the years the costume collection, bonnets and carriages were built up with donations, volunteers and sponsors, and they are still maintained every year. The play wagon has taken part every week for more than fifty years.
