Closing Day, Volunteers' Bread Meal.

Today is the grand finale of this folklore season. For years we have tried to thank all our volunteers by offering them a special programme. This year it is being celebrated with an open-air bread meal on the Markt.

At approx. 12:45 we hope to welcome many participants in West Frisian costume on the Markt in front of restaurant 'de Posthoorn' for a joint lunch to close the West Frisian Thursdays. The meal is provided by Bakkerij Slijkerman and Restaurant 'de Posthoorn', with musical accompaniment by “de Uienhoop”. Should it rain, the meal will be held in the Makado shopping centre. Before and after the meal, the “battle for the man and the woman” will be fought out.

09:00 – 15:00 Curiosities and crafts market in the Nieuwstraat.

10:00 – 15:00 The tower on the Markt can be climbed for a small fee; inside the tower is the exhibition with many historical photographs of the Westfriese Folklore.
