Schagen – During the West Frisian markets on Thursday 9 and Thursday 23 July, Museum Vreeburg and the Westfriese Folklore offer a unique experience for residents of Schagen and tourists alike. Visitors get the chance to be dressed in authentic West Frisian traditional costume and then take a seat in a traditional West Frisian carriage for a professional photo shoot.

The photo shoot takes place on the Markt in Schagen, opposite Restaurant De Posthoorn. From 10:00 to 15:00, volunteers from Museum Vreeburg will be on hand to transform visitors into real West Frisians of days gone by.

For €20, each group receives a professionally made photo in postcard format, printed on the spot, as well as a digital version that will be sent by e-mail later. That way you keep a lasting memory of an atmospheric day full of West Frisian traditions.

You can sign up on the day itself at the photo location on the Markt. If you want to be sure of a place, you can reserve a time slot in advance by sending an e-mail to penningmeester@museumvreeburg.nl.

With this special activity, Museum Vreeburg and the Westfriese Folklore want not only to introduce visitors to the rich traditional costume and traditions of the region, but also to let them literally become part of history. A unique chance to take home a special and authentic souvenir of the West Frisian market.
