This afternoon the association "Vrienden van het aangespannen paard afd, Noord Holland" (Friends of the Harnessed Horse, North Holland branch) paid a visit to Schagen. This year the outing was organised by Michel Bakker, and where else would he hold it than in the heart of the Folklore, "Boerderij en Rijtuigen Museum Vreeburg" (Farm and Carriage Museum Vreeburg). The approximately 40 guests were warmly welcomed with coffee and a sandwich roll. Chairman Jaap Lap welcomed everyone and handed over to Liesbeth Wever, Dita De Haan-van Rooij and Bart Jansma, who told juicy West Frisian stories; a Schagen song was also sung together, accompanied by Dick Langendijk on his accordion. The ladies also explained the West Frisian costume of around 1900. Afterwards, those interested could climb the tower on the Markt. It was a very successful visit to Schagen.
