The Westfriese Folklore and Kunst Verklaard stand shoulder to shoulder at ‘Sprekende Schilderijen’ (Speaking Paintings)’, the dynamic presentation that Ad Geerdink, director of the Westfries Museum, will give on Monday 21 September (20:15) at the Scagon.

The history of West-Friesland is the common denominator. Ad Geerdink goes back a little further than we do: using paintings, he will show something of (quote): “My personal wonderment at the most exciting and dynamic period in the history of West-Friesland, the Golden Age.”

Where did that rare self-confidence of our ancestors, who did business in every corner of the world, come from? And how did it develop? Paintings speak, for it is also: art explains.

Tickets: www.scagontheater.nl. Admission: €10.00 – CJP: €5.00 (including a drink afterwards)
