Rienk Mud to become chairman

At the annual general meeting of the Stichting ter bevordering van de Westfriese folklore in Schagen (Foundation for the Promotion of West Frisian Folklore in Schagen), to be held on 29 May 2017, Rob Hogenes will step down as chairman after nine years.

After the 2017 season he will be succeeded by Rienk Mud (63).

Rienk Mud lives in Schagen and is currently a public prosecutor.

Before that he held various management positions.

Rienk has also been active as chairman of the Schagen branch of the PvdA, was a councillor for that party for six years, and was chairman of the Scouting and of the Red Cross in Schagen.

For several years now, Rienk Mud has been chairman of SchagenFM, the local broadcaster.

The board of ‘the folklore’ sees Rienk Mud as the ideal successor to Rob Hogenes.

Vice-chairman Siem Huijberts will carry out the official duties of chairman during the coming season.
