Miss election, why not join in!

Miss election, why not join in!
For many people the Miss election is a big step; we all walk in the parade, but really standing in the spotlight is quite scary.
Perhaps the step onto the stage will seem smaller if I tell you that the most important thing is that you shine and that you are proud of what you represent, and that is a piece of folklore.
It doesn't matter whether you wear an expensive golden bonnet or a pretty farmer's hat...
It really doesn't have to be pomp and splendour; simple clothes were worn too. I absolutely understand that everyone wants to look their best, I do too, but let me reveal that my work costume is already being planned....
What is more important: taking part and enjoying it, or looking at someone else with envy?
What you do need to pay attention to is that it is correct: if it is from 1900, don't wear modern glasses, trendy shoes or make-up. Wear the right jewellery and nothing from the wrong period; less is more, and why not!? In 1900 not all women had that pomp and splendour. Nor does it have to be new; it may even be from the clothing loan to compete.
My motto is: go ahead and enter the election, especially if your costume is simple!
And once you are Miss..... shine and smile at people, even if you're having a bad day and don't feel like it because it's raining or it's bitterly cold; people will think you're wonderful.
I wish you every success; sign up quickly for the Miss election.
Love, the Miss of 2016, Linda Mechielsen.
