NEWSLETTER 2.

A few more weeks and (all being well) we will make a fresh start with the 63rd folklore season. We begin on 30 June and close the season on 1 September.

Time to get in touch again with the necessary important information and so on.

THANK YOU

To all those – and there were many – who were present in the guard of honour on the Markt on Friday 29 April to give Joop Schilder a last West Frisian farewell: thank you very much for coming. It was a dignified farewell.

IMPORTANT DATES

Children’s dance group

Since Thursday 14 April the children have been practising hard on the Torenplein (behind Peetoom) for the new dance season. Rehearsals run from 15:00 to 15:45. Boys and girls aged 4 and over can still be signed up with Astrid Neve (see above for email address) and on Thursdays on the square itself.

Feel free to come and watch, and if you enjoy it, just join in!

Annual meeting

6 June, 20:00 at Het Oude Slot on the Markt

Secretary Arie Groen will soon have the annual documents ready. We will post them on our website in the next few days, so that you can prepare for the meeting.

INSURANCE

In our April Newsletter we informed you in detail about the own risk of taking part in the parade and about all kinds of insurance.

We have received no further questions about this, so we assume that everything was clear enough.

NEW!!!

To promote ‘tower climbing’ (as it is a source of income for us), Jan Benit has put a new activity on the programme.

Directly after the performance of the Westfriese Dansgroep, members of the Skroifgroep will recite a “tower rhyme” on the Markt.

Not from the stage, but simply in the street.
