You will have heard that our former presenter and programme manager Joop Schilder died last Friday at the age of 68.

We also take this opportunity to extend our sympathy to Marieke and the family on their loss.

The family has indicated that they would greatly appreciate it if, this coming Friday 29 April, as many folklorists as possible dressed in West Frisian costume would form a guard of honour on the Markt, near our stage and café Piet Pann.

The funeral procession, on its way to the crematorium where a private farewell to Joop will take place, will pass here at around 13:00.

It would be wonderful if many of us could give Joop a last farewell from this spot.

We hope you will be able to respond to this request and look forward to seeing you on Friday – preferably in West Frisian costume – on the Markt.
