WESTFRIESE FOLKLORE CHILDREN'S DANCE GROUP IS STARTING REHEARSALS AGAIN!

The new West Frisian folklore season is in sight again.
Soon the children's dance group will start learning the dances for the ten West Frisian Thursdays in Schagen.
The children walk in the parade and dance on the stage in front of the church on the Markt to nostalgic music for a large audience.
And who doesn't know them: ‘als m’n vader en m’n moeder naar de markt toe gaan’ (when my father and my mother go to the market), ‘de driekusman’, ‘schoenlappertje’ (the little cobbler), ‘de poppenkraam’ (the doll stall) and many more songs like these.

Rehearsals start on Thursday 10 April, from 15:45 to 16:30.
Because of the renovation of the Julianaschool, rehearsals are being moved to the “Cultuurplein” (= the little square behind “De Posthoorn/Peetoom”, next to Markt 18).
Boys and girls aged 4 and older can be registered with:
Astrid Neve (wfkinderdansgroep@ziggo.nl) and, from 10 April, can also dance every Thursday on the Cultuurplein.
Feel free to come and have a look!
This year the West Frisian Thursdays begin on 3 July; the last one is on 4 September.
