Consumption vouchers abolished

The 2022 folklore season is happily just around the corner. After an absence of two years, we are hoping for a fantastic folklore summer just like old times. Although, just like old times is not entirely the case. After careful consideration, the board has had to decide to stop the consumption vouchers for the participants in the parade.

As you know, a consumption voucher worth €1.50 no longer bought a cup of coffee or tea without paying extra. Since the last folklore season in 2019, prices have only risen further.

We would have had to double the value of the vouchers to make a realistic gesture, and unfortunately we simply cannot afford that. However much we value our participants and would like to treat them to a drink at the Folklore's expense after the parade, such a material token of our appreciation has become too expensive. Better no voucher than a meagre, almost symbolic consumption voucher, was ultimately the reasoning. Moreover, we would rather spend the money on great programmes during the West Frisian Thursdays.

The board of course hopes that this will not dampen anyone's enthusiasm for taking part in the parade.

So we look forward to seeing you in the parade on 30 June.
