Become Miss?

Take part in the Miss Westfriese Folklore 2026 election!

In just over 3 weeks, the unofficial kick-off of the 2026 Folklore season takes place.

Who will succeed Sandra Bakker?? Who wouldn't want to shine next to Loek Kramer on the first gig (sjees) of the parade?

A number of candidates have already signed up, but registration is still open. We would love to add more ladies to the list of participants. All ladies aged 18 and over, with a bonnet or with a hulletje (simple cap), can take part in the election, and it is also possible to take part without competing. So showing off your beautiful costume to the large audience is also very much appreciated.

The eventual winner, the new Folklore Miss, is expected to take her seat on the gig at least 5 times. On the other Thursdays, the Misses who came second and third will do the honours.

The Miss election takes place on Thursday 18 June, for the first time in the carriage shed of Museum Vreeburg on the Loet. Starts at 20:00, doors open at 19:15.

Free admission.
